Who ever gets out on Robe this week, can we get a report?

If the water holds we'll have group together for this weekend and some recent beta would be nice. I have heard about the change at Tunnel and Little Sunshine but I am curious about wood reports.

We last ran Robe in early December.  Unfortunately, it was in the worst shape I have every seen.   There was wood throughout the run.   Some may have flushed out, but could have ended up further down stream.   We scouted almost every drop, there were logs in drops that you couldn't see sitting in your boat.  If you go, give yourself plently of time, we spent  5 hours and took off right at dark.    Two to pay attention too, are "Hole in the wall", the portage on the left isn't great, but doable, running the right didn't look that great when we were there.   The other is below "Conversion"  there is a river wide ledge that has worked a few boaters, the move we were told was tight left, but when we were there, a log was stuck in the left side of the ledge.  Fortunately,  it was easy to sneak along the right side and climb out on a rock to portage around.  I think the level was around 5-5.2, but the gauge isn't running true since it went big.  Have fun if you go.

The gauge that infamous day was 5.5, but it felt more like 5.2 of old.

Thanks for the beta...

D1 and Rob are out there today, from last word at least. And D1 is going to be out this weekend with me so I should be set. I am curious to hear if the wood has shifted or changed from your description. Less portages would be nice.

Hello  ,  Rob,  Christen N. and I ran Robe yesterday. Thankfully the run was clear of all wood in all the drops.  On the paddle out the three of us were very happy to find no wood and have a good clean run. The run took about 5hrs with scouting everything. We all walked Tunnel and the new waterfall just below. They both look pretty wicked.

Glad to hear the wood flushed out, we were very unhappy boaters the day we were there.   Hope you have a great day of boating on Sat.

D1 self extracted from that pin using a yoga like contorsion. I just watched as he was under the water squirmin around ... I of course shuved the camera in my pocket and then raced down to get into a position of aid. Then as soon as Jeff was around this boulder to help and I was down at the rivers edge, D1 pops out of it and snaps up like nothing ever happened. Well thats not exactly true he was blowin a little water but he was ok. It was pretty freaky but luckily it turned out ok. Have those pin kits handy folks.
