There are currently discussions in Congress regarding user fees on public lands and American Whitewater will be asked to provide input on behalf of the paddling community (in the past we have testified before Congress on this issue).

To better gauge where paddlers stand on this issue we have released a survey.

Funding for public lands management is a challenging issue and your input will be a huge help in effectively communicating to lawmakers.

Also, thanks to everyone who has taken the North Cascades whitewater survey--response has been tremendous! I'm going to leave it up for a few more days before completing the report but if anyone has not responded you can find it here:

I submitted this comment with respect to our community but how I feel about our government's use of our tax money.

"We already pay ultra high amounts of Federal income taxes and sales taxes. I believe the government should use it's resources (our tax money) more wisely and stop preying on us for more money when they are unable to manage properly what they have already collected from us."
