Canoe and kayak Magazine is excited to have Nick Hinds come aboard as our new Ad guy. Nick just moved here from Colorado, and was previously at Paddlinglife.net.
We are gonna run the sky tomorrow, meeting at splitrock at 2:00.
If you can leave work early or have the day off, come on out and paddle!

I can not wait to get my paddle in the water. It is a cold long, snowy winter in Colorado and I hear there is really the fabled year round boating season in the Northwest.
Anyone interested in doing some creeking this weekend around the Seattle area drop me a line. Glad to be in the land of water and endless options of boating!

Hey Nick, I moved up here and a half ago from da front range. It's a wee bit different, but you won't be looking back a whole lot. Give me a buzz if you ever need a partner and have fun explwhoring. -Dave

Welcome Nick, and excellent timing for a first post. You must be a very safe paddler.

Nick and Pow,
Another expat from the Front Range here. We moved up to Gold Bar from the Springs and couldn't be happier.

Cool, I'm in the Gold Bar area a decent amount, we'll have to hook up and paddle sometimes.
You had to do time in the Colorado Springs huh? That's too bad.

Actually, I came from the Steamboat Springs area. It was a tough move after 5 years there and 5 years out of Boulder. Don't think there will be a lot of driving to go Snowboarding in my future since I lived super close to the lift. But if I can paddle year round and on some of the most amazing creeks in the nation, I can deal.
Glad to hear you all have a local resource similar to Mountainbuzz in CO.

Instead of five minutes to the lift, it's an hour for most of us around here.....but if you like steeps, the terrain is better (Alpental backcountry, Crystal bc, Baker) than any ski area in Colorado outside of the San Juan's, and we've already received over 20 feet of snow this season, most of it 4% blower.
And if you wan't to eco-challenge it, there'll be plenty of opportunities to paddle/ride powder all in the same day.

Looks like a small group going today, just C&K staff... cmon guys, doesn't freezing your ass off in 30 degree weather and low water sound appealing to anyone else? HAHA
We'll be at splitrock at 2:00 if anyone can make it.
Also looking for water level beta on S.F. Skok. for this weekend. Gauge still reads 0 but i know this is a wintertime gem. Does anyone know what it's doing. Really want to creek this weekend, even if it means we head south for Truss, little White...
