So I am new to this site and relatively new to paddling. I got into white water a couple of years ago while living in Utah but recently moved back to Washington almost 2 years ago. Needless to say I haven't been on the water as much as I should have, partly because I don't have anyone I know up here that kayaks and also partly because I don't have a roll down yet.

Now its gonna get interesting. I am an L1 paraplegic. Thats just above your waist line for those of you that don't know. I am very active and have good use of my quads and hip flexors with a little bit of hamstring strength. My core strength is solid. I am very comfortable in most waters in an inflatable am comfortable in water and swim very well, but I want to push my ability in my hard shell. I am comfortable in II+ maybe small III, but would feel way more comfortable having a good roll down. I have take a few basic courses in river running and a couple of rolling classes but haven't got out enough to practice on my roll.

So really I am looking for a good group of people that would be willing to paddle with a beginner now and then and possibly help me work on my roll.

If interested or would like to meet of for beverages please let me know. Oh I would be willing to pay in beer for anyone willing to help me develop a roll, if that sweetens the pot any :)

I don't know where you live but I'm in Monroe.  I used to teach kayaking for about 10 years and would be happy to take you out to a lake nearby and help you with your roll.  I'm a stay at home Mom right now (used to work in the paddling industry) so I'll have two small kids in tow but they can play on the beach while I help you.  We're also starting to take my 6 year old son on rivers in his kayak.  You're welcome to join us on those.  Right now we're just doing class I / II.  If you're interested, send me a private message on this site and I'll send you my number.
