With that said, for those who don't have the luxury of paddling with fantastic boaters who are good at communicating their skill, it is nice to have classes.
 
I would take more classes if more were available.
 
I took a beginner class when I started kayaking, and I'm glad I did.  It made the experience lots of fun and not so scarry.  I also progressed quickly in the class and loved that feeling.  A lot of my drive to take another class is to get that feeling back in a relatively safe(?) environment where I know I'm learning correct skills I won't have to relearn later.
