Ashley - Great Pow here at whistler - particularly when hiking. I'll take Blackcomb's terrain over Hood's any day.

Jimmy - Spanky's refers to Spanky's ladder, access to Ruby, Garnet, Sapphire, and Diamond bowls above Blackcomb glacier.

Oh, I almost forgot. As I was boarding down to Blackcomb base to take my board in for some ptex work (hit a rock covered by pow), I may have spotted Hugo hanging out in the tube park, sporting a jacket with a fur trimed hood...

I would take Whistler too, but its freakin' expensive, and the terrain here is fantastic. We had better snow than you did. No contest. I've skiied pow days at Whistler, this was better.

No doubt, I just had three sweet days in a row and never went more than two hours from my house.  Alpental backcountry was sick today, super light, thigh deep and untracked everywhere.

KTW - just to be clear - not saying anything bad about WA - just hood. Stevens is my home mountain, and I need someone to show me the goods at Alpental and Crystal.

yes, yes you said that already.  Hope you got that p-tex stuff taken care of, I would hate for your scratched board to be the cause of any carnage that may occur this season.  Everybody hates equipment failures.
suck it

Yep, took it right down to the core on the lateral moraine on Blackcomb glacier when boarding down from East Col, so I figured I should get it fixed before too much moisture gets in.

Had great views today of Spearhead glacier - Spearhead isn't backcountry I am willing to solo...

So, here are a small selection of pictures from the Whistler trip and BC interior trip last week.  Perhaps Hugo can correct me if I got any of the labels wrong.

Looking towards Spanky's ladder/Blackcomb glacier from Horstman peak:

Looking back at the fresh tracks after the ride down from the hike:

Hike to top of Blackcomb glacier entrance above wind lip (west col Blackcomb peak):

Looking at Whistler mountain from top of Blackcomb glacier:

Top of East Col (above Blackcomb Glacier) looking at the Spearhead traverse:

Top of East Col, Spearhead Glacier is around the corner to the left, Circle Glacier in front:

Disease Ridge from East Col (DOA chute a short hike up to the right):

Looking down Blackcomb Glacier from East Col:

Looking back up (Right to Left: Husume Flank, East Col/Spearhead Traverse, Blackcomb Peak)

Vernon from Silver Star:

View out from top of Sun Peaks (Hike to top of Tod Mountain):

Kamloops Lake:

Low Water Frog Wave, or shall I say small hole:

Wow, I haven't popped in here in a while but now I find out a PP member's home mountain is Stevens? Damn, we should get in some ski days next season. Up for some spring touring in may and beyond?

Oh, I usually do a few trips to Whistler and Hood in spring when all the local areas close. Don't know about space but let me know if you're interested. Last year we ended up sleeping in the parking lot to save on cash but this year I'd like to try to get as many people as possible and split the cost of sleeping under a roof.

I've got a pass to Meadows, I'll be there a couple more times this spring, PM me if you're headed down and want to ski.

I won't be able to do any activity until May but after Cinco de Mayo at Alpy, I'm game for going anywhere.
