Seattle Raft & Kayak, in conjunction with Rescue 3 International and Sierra
Rescue, is holding a 2-1/2 day Whitewater Rescue Technician (WRT) course on
the weekend of April 14-16. This course is designed for professional guides
as well as private boaters. The emphasis is on fast, improvised rescue
techniques that work with minimal equipment. Time is spent developing good
judgment that supports the hands-on training.
The course meets at Seattle Raft and Kayak from 5-9 pm on Friday April 14,
and on a local river (tbd) from 8am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday the 15th and
16th.
This course is combined with Rescue 3's Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT)
curriculum and course objectives. Completion earns either an SRT or a WRT
certification, depending on your personal and professional needs. The
WRT/SRT certification is offered through Rescue 3 International. More

The course is being taught by certified Rescue 3 Instructor Abigail Polsby
of Sierra Rescue. Abigail is also a Rescue 3 Instructor Trainer American
Canoe Association Swift Water Rescue Instructor, mountaineer, river guide,
and rescue professional.
This is excellent, practical field experience on the river, learning skills
that keep you and your friends safe on the water.
