 Topic: PP Ball 2011 Posted: 01 Feb 2011 at 10:09pm |
So this year is going to be year number 6. Most of the folks that have helped in years past are either gone or just burned out (myself included). So to make it simple I figured we would anchor down in the Orchard since it seems to be a copasetic spot and we can do our thing with a nice and loose schedule. There will be rafts to move kids and friends down the river and we can have an impromptu rodeo and/or race.
If anyone wants to volunteer to run an event let me know and we can talk.
We still have a ramp in pieces and I am sure with some elbow grease it would be better but it would take some effort and volunteers, neither of which is me.

Is there a volunteer list going? I'm trying to get a bunch of schwag for prizes and stuff.

I have the ramp at my place and will put in the time to modify the transition. Just need some hands the weekend before to help set it up. Should go smoothly since we've done it once before and it went pretty quick that time. Just have to find a truck to help haul it around, I should be able to get the same trailer as last year. Also going to need scaffolding. We can rent $$$ or maybe someone on here has some we could borrow?

I may be able to help the weekend prior with ramp setup, but right now it's too early to tell.

I have to say, at least for the people who helped with the Ball last year, the ramp setup and troubleshoot weekend was the better of the two. How many cases of beer did we go through? I know I bought 2 cubes of pbr and one 12 pack of Sierra Nevada and there wasn't a drop of beer to be found in my truck come Monday morning. HUGE props to the Shelby clan, James, crazy Larry And Joe for coming up that weekend. It couldn't have happened without you guys.

The other big question on the ramp is covering cost of the scaffold rental. I dont have the numbers in front right now but I believe is was a couple hundred. Are we charging anything besides the kickback to phil?
On that note. Are we going to try and raise money for anyone this year?

Count me in for set up weekend. I have one level of scaffolding I found behind the shop I'll bring as well.
Ill also judge the rodeo again as long as jedi hawks helps and Nick Hinds competes in his C1. Off topic, Where did that raft with the keg in it come from?
Finally, we have an old silverado down in Eugene we will be going to pick up next month to tow a badass wooden boat KT got from her gramps home. Im assuming if we can tow a boat we can tow a trailer, so heres hoping we can get the truck running.
Im also always good for trash detail as its an ongoing process all weekend and no matter how boozed I get I dont seem to fu*k that one up.
Finally, no matter what happens to me, dont let me let Trail sleep in the car, lol.
