Saturday, if there's water, while it is free. I still poke the Olympic idea, but Guiana about to be an untouchable. Anyone else?

Yeah, I don't know how I got 'poke' instead of 'like' via autocorrect, but there it is. My point is: the O.P. Will be there. We're getting cut off from the N.F. and this week should provide us with one last go on Saturday.
Oh, to clarify, I'm talking about the section above Ernie's. This is a fun class III run with a flat dirt road hike out, about a mile, it's over by the time you get bored with walking.

I would really like to get on the NF Snoqualime (above Ernies) on the class III section before it is too hard to access or to expensive. Is that what you are talking about?? If so, I would like to go.

I might be interested-- please keep me in the loop. I've been contemplating the OP trip, but it's entirely depending on water flows. Due to the dry spell we've been having, I'm itching to get in my boat and want to make sure there's good flow wherever I go.

Definitely on my "to-run" list as well and getting in before the access fees take effect would be a great way to finish out the year.

Here is the link for the forecast for anybody who missed it: http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?SNQW1

Looks like we may have a chance of running it at record levels. It peaked at 2940cfs with more rain coming in the next few days and if I'm reading this right, the record was recorded in 1946 at 3150cfs? Am I missing something?

The recommended levels of 600-1200cfs seems like a pretty narrow range. What's it like at 2000? 2500?

The walk out didn't seem that bad to me.

Dale I think 3200 is a perfect surf level.

Dale, the walk wasn't bad at all, especially since you got trucked for the second half of it!

10:30 works for me. I have never done the run. Is there an upper level that would kill the trip?

Butch-levels should be fine, but I've only done the run once before. Levels were lower, and though it'll be up when we put on, it is forecast to drop quickly through the day. I think it'll be good to go.

Dave, the meet is on the logging road where Spur 10 Bridge road intersects. AW has directions (haven't checked here, but probably on PP rivers as well).

So, looking at gauges and predictions via USGS and Brian's link, well, we'll certainly have water. I was stoked before because we would have put on when it was high, and I remember thinking that the early part of the run needed more water the most. Yesterday the forecast was a significant drop while we'd be on water, never getting too low. I liked this because my favorite spot on that trip last month was where we grabbed lunch: there was a hole that wasn't too big, but fun, with easy and excellent eddy service. I pulled some spins, better boaters probably could have looped.

Anyway, the forecast now shows a less dramatic drop through the day, which is good, and levels will be a little above what they were a month ago, so what brain cells can help, will, and what is remembered won't have big changes due to similar levels.

I'm so looking forward to this!!!!!!

Joe, good point!!!! I hadn't thought of that. Perhaps we should all consider a meeting point and phone chain in the case that the roads are that bad. Once past the fork in the road to Ernie's, it gets unpaved and unfriendly to 2WD if snowed over.

Here's my contact:

Ate 6 hero, three tree hive, thee hive you sick.

I wanted that to be as much a sentence as I could.

So, I'll trundle up there a little (lot) early and check it out. Let us push meeting time earlier a half hour, just so we can get it together. Worst case scenario would be ditching most vehicles in North Bend, and taking overcrowded vehicles capable of the task to the put in and take out.

I had not factored this in, thanks for the heads up. Judging elevation, however, I think we'll be ok, but what do I know!?
