Topic: Will Trade Cookies for Homegrown Tomatoes Posted: 02 Sep 2007 at 10:52am |
Given the dry nature of the rivers, I haven't been baking or reading PP lately. It looks like river time has turned to PP posting time --- so many people on-line. So, the cookie-fairy is offering a trade. I'll swap home-made cookies for home-grown tomatoes. You pick the type of cookies and provide a bag of tomatoes. And no, don't even think about a trip to QFC, Safeway, Marketplace or even Whole Foods (I know D4 might be thinking this would work). I will not be fooled by fancy store bought heirloom tomatoes. I'm looking for the real deal grown in your backyard. Anyone interested?

Perhaps...but does he know he is parting with his precious tomatoes? Or, are you stealing those in the cover of darkness?

If you trust him your crazy!
I already caught him scoping out my cookies once or twice... Too bad its not home grown Apples.. Our tree was off the hook this year. I had cobbler out my ears, and that is a good thing!

We might be able to work out a deal for apples in the future...maybe. However, they just don't have the same trading power for me. If you have to choose 10 foods to eat for the rest of time, home grown tomatoes are number one on the list. Apples don't make the top 25.
As far as trusting Dave, I would probably ask for his dad's phone number! I really don't want to support an undergroung ring of tomate thieves.
And James, who changed my name to "Cookie Fairy"? I'm not complaining, just curious.
