The jumping log above Green Canyon us rotten. Half of it nearly broke off when one if our trip members ran off the end if it. Jump from midspan where it is still solid. - Posted by: Wiggins on 8/27/2016 7:40:00 AM -

Other IssuesMost commonly run from early July to September after levels have dropped from peak snowmelt. At higher levels (15,000+) Slide rapids becomes huge and is very likely to flip large rafts. |
Fun FactsThere's rapids on this run named "Bunghole" rapids. Huh huh huh |
Run DescriptionOne of the best extended trips in Idaho with great beaches and usually hot weather in the summer months.
Lots of good information including a 76 page river guide PDF with maps showing camps and rapids can be found on the BLM website:
BLM Lower Salmon Page
Pool drop river with plenty of pool-drop class 2 & 3 rapids at low to moderate levels with one class 4 (Snowhole) and Slide rapids which is just a narrow spot in the canyon at low water, but at high water becomes a huge slide into an enormous hole that can flip even big gear rafts end for end. Slide rapids is the main reason this section isn't run often at higher levels.
