Putin DetailsPut in at the Apocynum Campground or put in on the upper and run both sections. |
Takeout DetailsTake the dirt road on the right just after the bridge that goes over the Nahatlach on your way to the put-in. DO NOT PARK NEAR THE RIVER. THIS TAKE OUT BELONGS TO REO. They are cool with boaters using the access but want you to park about halfway down the road where it bends hard to the right. Be respectful of REO.
...or...go all the way to the Fraser and take out in Boston Bar. There is a stoudt Class V just above the Fraser confluence.... |

In the last year or so there has been a series of landslides at the Nozzle. Word out of BC is it is currently unrunnable. - Posted by: Wiggins on 6/9/2016 3:39:00 AM -

Other IssuesWARNING: In 2016 landslides made the Nozzle unrunnable. As of 2019 it's being run again, but paddlers warn of dangerously sharp rocks to watch for. Recent beta is highly recommended before running the Canyon. |
Run DescriptionAn exciting short class IV+ run. Starts at Apocynum Campground. You get some class 3 warm up for about a mile until you reach REO Raft Company's property, then the canyon really begins. The Nozzle is the biggest drop and comes up pretty soon after passing REO. Several rapids line up in quick succession below The Nozzle. After you pass the main road bridge there are a few more good rapids and then the takeout is on the left.
The canyon can be run at lower levels and gets very pushy at high water.
