  Access

The putin is at an Oregon state park(mciver state park), there is 5$ day use fee if you are parking, otherwise you might be able to get in and out for free.
The take out is clackamus county park, which might have a fee during high season.

  Putin Details

The putin is at mciver state park. it is 3 miles off highway 224 at mciver state park. Estacada is the closest town to the put in, but you can also get there from the other side of the river, which is faster coming from the west side thru barton. Within the park, put in at the upper (turn right) boat ramp to catch first rapids of the trip.

  Takeout Details

The take out is at Barton county park. Would be impossible to miss on the river. Right before large green bridge. Entering park, stay right to boat ramp almost under the bridge. From the park exit, continue one block west to return to Hwy 224.

  Other Issues

hitch hiking could be difficult because the road isn't a complete straight shot and you have to drive through mciver state park for 1.5 to 2 miles. However, this is a popular run for fisherman and beer drinking rafters so hitching can happen.

  Fun Facts

This is a great beginner run. There isn't a ton of whitewater, but it is a good place to practice catching eddies, learn how to paddle in currents.

   Run Description [Season: All]

There is some whitewater right away leaving mciver state park. mostly class 2, but it is what you make of it. you can float down or try to practice catching eddies in the currents and learn about edge control of your boat. it is a great beginner run. There was a good amount of flat boating but it was always accompanied by great scenery. Approx. 9 miles.
