I am hoping to head up to the Cascade again this weekend. It looks like the trend is going to hold. Anyone else considering?

we had 1 full screen plus about 1/3 to a 1/4 of the next one showing...what time did they look?

also are they counting the decking? it seems as though it is a bit higher now than it was this past weekend. that little more might fill up the next screen and if they are counting the deck material as a screen that would make sense...

I would bet the farm they were counting the wooden deck material at the top as a screen.  It is traditional to count only the metal screens.   Apparently the correlation between the screens and the actual flow changed with the last major flood.  It is best to use the gauge.  You can get a link to the gauge page by clicking on the run listed in the rivers at the top of the PP page.  It will definitely be a go this weekend.  Maybe we'll see some more kayakers out there this weekend?

Thanks Franz. I was a bit gutted when I heard two screens but you're reasoning makes sense. I've been trying to make a mental correlation between screens and cfs since the new gauge but not as simple as I hoped. There may be a few of us up there but as members of the Crack-o-Noon club we may or may not see you.
