I will attempt to answer the question, "who is JP el Rio Bandito."

From a line of paddling slalom racers came a chap named Jon P******.  He grew up racing some, kayaking with legends all over the Mid Atlantic.  Many years have passed and he has migrated through Montana and up to the Northwest.  Guiding rafts the whole way and working as a skilled tile man, he has funded his plethora of paddling trips and excusions all over the region.

Many times he speaks his loud and boisterous opinion, not only on this formum but in the eddy.  You can hear him over any shuttle music and  if you want to hear some tidbits of wisdom tune it.

The lambchops are a signature you can't miss.  Keeper of the Robe watch, friend to all who float.

Every so often a man comes along...  Similar to the dude.

Nick, great description !!!

I would only ask JP (aka Wetmouse) that someday when he is again fine tuning his whitewater resume that among the charc references he gives (such as John "The wildman" Reagan or Sinkn Jim Snyder) he would be willing to include the Nutty P. A better rio bandito could not be found - and unlikely to find A Master that is also aprentice!!!!

awww geez  ! The only point of clarification required would be to admit my very limited slalom racing, though I have participated in a few little local races. I was heavily influenced by lots of slalom boaters early on, though, and have adapted the style in my own crude, bastardized way (rio bastardo)!

Just crank up the AC~DC with an obvious gesture if you need reprive from "The World According To jP!"

That Nutty P is a true Mystery Man fo sho!! Often off on his own solo sinkin- hopefully that'll change soon now that I have some materials to work on my vintage glass...

I think 2010 will be  a great year of paddling regardless of El Nino and the UNCERTAINTIES it presents us with! Gonna take the whole quiver and dleiver to the river, pick a boat, put on an giv'er!!
