Topic: Water so far..... Posted: 21 Oct 2011 at 9:18pm |
So, looks like Lower Green, Skagit, and Sky are flowing (for us mortals who have whatever reasons to keep below cl V rating). However, I'm a bit apt to go to Westport for some surf tomorrow. Any paddlers up for surf? I'd be on my board, but breakers are a total rush.

Sleeping in doesn't work for dawn patrol surf sessions.......
So, anyone up for Snoqualmie?

Does anyone know if you need passes to park at any of the get ons?
I have yet to obtain any of the passes.

I have yet to obtain any of the passes. I think you need a NWFS pass at the put-in. . but not positive on that. there was no signs last time I was there. I would be down for tomorrow around noon, if the water drops back down to 3000-3500. I haven't ran it above 2600. I'll check in the morning and update.

Lots of good points:
I, too, need to get one of those parking passes.
If the flow is too high, I'll not be going, either: only boat is a little boat (that is, unless it is not all that risky running in a playboat, anyone got level cutoff suggestions for small boats?).
PM sent PG.

My take on it is, if you've got a solid roll and basic class III experience you should be fine on anything from 4000 and under, about where its at. Especially if you are with someone who knows it at those flows. I will say though, that there is one particular pourover hole that once gobbled me up at around 3600 in my creekboat and I thought I'd have to swim. So its worth saying that there are a few places worth watching out for at these medium high flows.
Flows look decent for the Tilton tomorrow. Me and a freind are thinking bout hitting that up, but he also mentioned the Middle Middle.

I noticed the Tilton gauge, too. Though it's farther away, and I hear there's a bit of flatwater at the ends, sounds like a stellar run. What are your plans for time at Tilton? I've still got my fingers crossed for Snoqualmie, though!

Yo grinch I'll PM you my number, and if you get it tonight and want to call, we can talk a bit about the Tilton. There is a bit of flat at the end, its true. I consider it to be an exquisite run, tho.

Snoqualmie peaked overnight, and at the rate it is dropping, will probably be good for a mid day run. Anyone else feel the same way?

Grinch you should go meet jp and run the tilton. I'm not gonna drive that far though.
I also don't know the mm at these flows, but I do know where some of the big holes are, like the right at house rocks for example.
Try hooking up with jp since we have no crew and I'm not sure I have the energy to do too much more than float today.
