If the levels hold I would be up for getting out 10 or 11.

I was there today and talked to scott about the run. Also took a pic of Paradise, but can't seem to import pics right now.

it's not toast, it just has wood all over the shore, and a tentative class III boater might not want to go out there until it cleans up. The next high water event will likely make things worse by moving all the wood off the shore and into key place in the river.

The line will become apparent

Yup. Scott's vid of the Nozzle shows the "key place" you mentioned, Jed. A massive jam waiting to happen, but then again, who knows? Its up to nature, combined with HH dam and the way it imposes itself upon nature. Have to wait n see.
I moved the vid post to the "wood update for the Green River Gorge" thread. Sorry. No linkage.
Yeah- not toast. Just exactly as I described it. Gotta pay attention. Class IV boaters are good to go for a casual run if they pay attention. Class III+ boaters are gonna be scrambling. Maybe brushing against peril. Class III newbies STAY AWAY. Then again, those are just guidelines. Choose your own adventure.
If its above 1000 on friday, I'm running it. Meeting at Paradise at 2:15p. Anyone who is solid enough is welcome to join. But, while this current wood configuration exists the way it does, I don't want to play babysitter in there. Sounds blunt to say that online, but paddling culture could stand to recover just a wee bit of such directness. Its gotten way too wishy washy. Especially in PNW WW utopia.
I just live real close. So even w/ the Nozzle plugged up, I gotta go boat it. It won't deter my interest, because its only 20 min away.
Lookin forward to fri- flows permitting.
