Ok, this might be the last chance this spring. Planning on meeting at FG about 10:30/11 am. Dropping one car with provisions at Paradise, then heading up to the put-in.

Should be a decent day with reasonable weather, not to mention welcoming water level.

I think there's three of us so far, but who else wants to party?

***Wood Update in Let's Make A Deal***

Good News:
The BIG FAT LOG that was perched on Stano Rock (sorry, don't know what else to call it) is COMPLETELY GONE now. Yay! I think Jim musta knocked it loose with his mighty stroke on Monday.

Anyway, Doors #1, #2, and #3 are clean. There is just one blunt end of wood sticking up on the upstream face of one of the medium sized rocks on R. Left. Its not really in play.

I'll wait till morning to decide, depending on flow. If it stays above 1500 likely I'll be down. I may just run the upper. The higher it remains, the more likely I'll run the whole thing.

I'll check this thread tonight

Give five to six hours total for the run. This includes chow time mid way through. Might take less, but I have no intent to race. It'll be a nice day, and I want to take pictures.

Cool. Sounds like an interesting day with a few peeps doing the Upper, then some will leave and others will join for the lower. I'm gonna coordinate that with Dale. Meet at Flaming Gyser at 11?

Do what you want, but if I were you I'd meet down there at 10:00 or 10:30. Get a jump on the day. If you got any sort of double shuttle goin on (setting a rig at Paradise as well as Flamin G), it'll eat up some time. And, never underestimate the potential for boaters to dick around before a trip. The formula goes something like this:

Number of cars meeting at Take Out x number of boaters - Number of cars goin to put in + alternative Take Out '/. Meet time = super late put on time.

(Or something like that. I barely passed Algebra, so I ain't no mathmetician)

In other words, remember your goal: maximum quality time spent on the river itself.

Where are you planning on putting in?

Well, you're right. I just didn't want anyone to be rushed on a Sunday morning. I'm open to suggestion, and it is usually quite easy for me to get to FG, but I'm in Seattle tonight, not Puyallup. Most people I know who are planning on meeting us are comin from at least an hour away, too. I dunno. It might be a dumb decision, but I just thought it'd be fun to paddle the whole gorge for once.

Put in at the fisherman's lot oposit KP put in.

Well, daylight hours are abundant, too, so its not like you'll run out of light either.

I'm gonna be out there.
Probably gonna be a free agent and set my own shuttle. So when you see my van at Paradise, I'll probably already be on the water. If its raining I'll pack a tarp. I may even bring my stove and have Brunch in the Upper Gorge somewhere. Not sure. Unless for some reason its really cold, you guys will see me in the Upper Gorge somewhere. Maybe even reading a book if its sunny. Who knows? I may just be traveling light and boating it up in there. Disecting rapids, doing attainments, ect. The day is full of possibilities...

I may just take out at Paradise, or elect to run the whole thing.

But flows still look good, so I may as well relish the gorge while it is running. see you out there. Mainly I want more river time than driving time these days, and I'd rather spend time on a quality stretch of whitewater than have some effort-fest of an adventure.

The Green is just good 'ol fashion classic whitewater (when there is water in it, that is- most of that rubble needs to be covered, and the currents that push that river deserve to be honored when they are pesent).

I admit, I doesn't need to be a full gorge run. Just thought it might be a good experience (acknowledging the time involved).

I'm totally open to just the Upper, BTW.

11 o'clock at Flaming Geyser. See ya'll there. I like what you said jP about the Green being "good 'ol fashion classic whitewater." The levels are still up and this will be a good 'ol fashion whitewater trip. I may even bring my banjo and strum along as we do the river. At least a harmonica. I have a feeling the sun will burst forth today and light up the river.
I wouldn't mind getting out and taking a look at some of those rapids as well. I've run them successfully but I've never taken a real good look at them to see what makes them.
Anyway, looking forward to paddling with ya'll today.

Good news. My wife said that she will run all the shuttles. She'll drop us off, then meet at Paradise with the food. Then meet at FG for pick up. She has plenty of homework to keep her busy so it works out.

What a nice run today!

Massive thanks to Oscar's wife for all her effort and the generous chow at Paradise. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
