Just moved to Seattle from California and I'm looking for people to boat with. I'm boating IV+. I have a car and I'm down to paddle very often. Thanks!

Yo, Books- welcome to the PNW. You can run the Sky year round even tho its mostly class III. Its a good way to keep the chops up for when the Pinapple Express hits around october or later. Thanksgiving is generally a good time for early winter rains too.

The Sky can get HUGE with a few days of heavey rain once the water table is saturated a bit. Then some of the class IV runs that feed it will be in if flows are high enough.

White Salmon will run well after the first of the year generally.

Tumwater Canyon will offer class IV goods at low winter flows (1000-1800cfs), provided its not snowed in or somethin.

Those are some good focal points to get you started if you plan to boat all winter.

Closer to Seattle there are two favorites, the Green (Upper Gorge) a fun class IV and the Middle fork of the Snoqualmi, a fun class III with great play the whole way down depending on levels.

Its a little under 3 hours - in the Yakima area (closest town to the run is Naches).

Looked the green up on AW, it looks like fun. When does it usually run?

Well, the Green ran most of the year this year.
It usually only runs when we get rain events and during the rainy season in the fall and spring sometimes. But when it is in, I will be on it. It is very close to my house and I love to run it.
