I checked greyhound, but they seem to have a max length of 82 inches?

Anybody used them or know a good shipper from Charleston SC to Seattle?

Wrap the boat in carpet foam. Tape it up really well and drop it off at your Forward Air Terminal in Charleston, SC then pickup in Kent, WA.

Should be around $100 or so.

Name: FORWARD AIR, INC
Address:  3074 ASHLEY PHOSPHATE ROAD
 N. CHARLESTON ,  SC 29418

What James said. I had a boat shipped that way from the Bay Area to Seattle and it was a snap. Just pad it well.

How's she doin? I ain't seen Ashley since I paddled glass- just kiddin!

Seriously- Forward Air is the sh*t, yo! I had a simple no nonsense time droppin it off and picking it up. It was about $100. I stuffed my paddlin gear in it and wrapped it really good in carpet foam, then shrink wrapped the sh*t out of it. Pretty cheap when you consider how hassle free it was. I think they even ensured it really good for a few extra bucks.

You should check this out:
http://www.uship.com/

I had a couple motorcycles shipped through this service and it worked out great and was competitively priced.

I would warn everyone NOT to use uship. I know this is going to get into a big fat discussion that does not have much to do with shipping boats but here is the long and skinny.

Uship is like an ebay for shipping services. Anyone from a college student to a fully insured trucker hauling goods for a major company can join and bid on shipments. Uship does ZERO checking for valid carrier authorities, liability or anything of such but they allow businesses to bid against each other as if they provide the same services with little assistance to help the shipper determine how businesses differ. Ultimately it undermines the businesses that abide by the law, pay to operate properly and drives business into those that don't. Here are your three outcomes when using Uship.

1. An illegally operating carrier hauls your shipment and it all turns out ok. You are happy but you helped undermine honest businesses that can't compete by paying taxes and operating legally.

2. An illegally operating carrier hauls your shipment and it gets damaged, they get stopped and arrested, the shipment gets put into bond etc... bad stuff happens. You are not happy, you are out the money and your shipment, and you have still undermined honest businesses. Oh and did you know that Uship censors bad feedback and even kicks users that get screwed. Yea google it you will be blown away. Example here of uShip dealing with a Fake Carrier that stole several Boats. The deleted the history of the whole thing and left the owner in the dark. When you sign up for Uship you agree to the EULA and that is in the terms, they are responsible for NOTHING.

3. You use a real valid carrier that was on Uship who was hurting for business because of this dilemna and agrees to take your shipment for a loss in most cases just to try and stay a float. You are happy, the carrier is happy but they end up going out of business in a few years. <- we used to be on Uship and left because we were loosing money operating legally. We would now rather haul empty trailers than undermine the industry, and I work for one of the largest Van System in the world.

People like to compare this with using contractors in your home, or plumbers or mechanics. But you can't and here is why. The federal government and state government do not declare it is illegal to perform these services without state and federal liscenses. In some cases they do but in many it is not regulated. Transportation is... period, even the simple mailing of a letter, or even the brokerage of the mailing of a letter. This is why Uship does not function as a broker where the carrier bills them and then they bill you.

At this point I am just ranting, so I will shut it.
