Interesting! Wonder if that'll make a raft flipper next season. Could make for some good fun.

Finnally!! There is a rock in the Wenatchee!
So maybe the Hawaii 5-O wave will still be there... But looks like trinity will be gone? Hard to judge the spaces accurately from photos. Guess we'll find out!
Maybe there'll be a cool pillow move or boof after peeling off the Drunkards wave...
This is BIG NEWS!!

Goes to show that you need to paddle these waves (and rivers) while you can.. because you never know when it will disappear.
Trinity was unbelievable last season.. by far my favorite wave on the Wenatchee.
Only hope it will be there again this year.

Trinity was unbelievable. I can remember just sitting there bouncing on the wave for minutes on end completely alone. Only in the great sate of Washington. That rock will make things interesting. I wonder how it will shift as flows increase?

Jean-Luc said it was about 5m downstream of the Hawaii 5-0 wave, hence pretty far upstream of Trinity (for now). I bet it'll make that corner pocket at the top of the rapid a little juicier before it starts rolling downstream. Maybe Hoov can get out there with a rock bar?? just kiddin, hoov

Hawaii 5-0 might become move of a wave hole now since there will be water backing up but there is no way trinity can be the same, or even that great because so much water will be re-directed. Curious if the railroad below will see some serious errosion too. Before alot of water went on both sides of the little gravel island, now I more of the water is pushed right eroding that built up wall with the rail above.... Just a guess ... still makes me excited to see it this spring!

[QUOTE=KBfree]Goes to show that you need to paddle these waves (and rivers) while you can.. because you never know when it will disappear.
so true ! i say that all the time .... but at the same time, i love the ever changeing and rare nature of running rivers .... flowing water is in its self a fleeting thing , its always moveing, rivers are either riseing or falling .... over the last 19 years i have seen many features on many rivers come and go (as well as log jams, and roads)
the rare events like a flood day at the Nassel or Moshpit are some of my favorite days, just because they only happen a few times a year, and if i have the time, money and gear to get there it truly is a speical day... lets say i kayak for another 20 years, if im lucky enough to get on the Nassel once a year, thats only 20 more times in that epic wave hole in this life
anyways rivers are always changeing and have been for thousands of years, its what they do .... so if there is a wave or rapid you like, get it while ya can ! like Kirk said ... it may not be there tommoro or heck you may not be there tommoro
on the other hand you never know when a flood or landslide is gona kick out a new playspot, wave or rapid .. the best may be yet to come !!

Yup. Fascinating and dynamic. Hate to say it, but I think Trinity will be gone. Certainly it won't be the same.
Makes me glad I took advantage of it last summer in the vintage Diablo- best season of Wenatchee surf I ever had in that boat!

Forecast for near 10k CFS come Thursday. If the forecast is correct I'm hoping to have some sort of a report on if that rock stays around. It's worth noting that there are basically no rocks like that anywhere in that section of the Wenatchee. I'd be surprised if that stays around.

Oh dude, c'mon- not like it's "Pick on N8 Nite" or anything, but where's that rock gonna go? I don't see any flying saucers coming down from outter space to blow it up so's the little green men can surf Trinity next summer. That rock may get pushed around, but it's there.
Tell you what:
If the Incredible Hulk wades out there and says:
"Hulk No Like Big Fresh Rock! Big Fresh Rock blocks Hulk's Fav Wave on Wenatchee! Big Fresh Rock make Hulk MAD!! Hulk Smash!!"
...IF that happens, and IF that rock dissappears without a trace, and IF mighty, long lost Trinity returns to its former glory, then I will present to you TWO bottles of ARROGANT BASTARD ALE at the Professor Paddle Ball next summer. IF there is a Professor Paddle Ball!
