Yeah, by far my highest run out on it today (7500). Loads of fun and surprisingly chill (once the disclaimers below are taken into account).
its lookin like it will be big again tomorrow. Not sure about 6K, but even if its only 4K it will be powerful big. You want less than 3K for a first time flow for sure, and I agree with you, Dave:
Not sure where it tips the point from IV+ to V, but at 6K and above it is quite safe to call it class V.
Five of us were out on it today (I took a long Lunch break

), and at 7500 I don't have a problem calling it class V. Fish called it class IV. The thing is, we are both right. That's what makes rating stuff tricky, especially High Water boat'n:
It boats like class IV at that flow IF one is a class V paddler. Everyone present today was. sh*t was huge but I barely got my head wet. I paddled around most of the big sh*t, and stayed well away from the monster holes that are peppered throuout the run at 7,500. But if you came out of your boat, or got stuffed somewhere nasty, you're gonna be dealing with class V consequences for sure.
But with Skills and Experience it is generally smooth sailing. IF you stay out of trouble, which I went out of my way to do. Darren of course was looking for it, but in a calculated way. Plus he's a bad ass. I'm not.
There were plenty of monstrous holes, but they are easily avoided (with skills and experience).
There were trees in the margins of the run, Bret actually got a little close for comfort to one toward the end, but he was casually in control. I barely saw Jeremy- he was way in the back of the pack in that slow Toyboat, but he was throwin himself into some big sh*t too.
I'll tell ya one thing, I doubt the Nozzle is blocked now! I didn't see any of the wood that was in play a few weeks back when we found the Nozzle blocked, and its fluttered up around 8K a few times over the last 48hrs. Rejoice!
We didn't mess around below the Nozzle: we stayed left from there all the way through let's make a deal.
