Topic: Good Karma Posted: 27 Apr 2013 at 10:54pm |
Anyone out there had the chance to paddle a Jackson Karma? I'm currently boating a Zen 65. I'm looking for a creek boat and have heard the Karma is fast n fun and a bit smaller than your average creeker.
I sat in a Jefe and that felt HUGE.
I wanna start stepping up and i think my Zen is a bit edgy for the harder runs. Any input would be appreciated!
Cheers!

I don't have a ton of time in one, but have tried out the karma twice and loved it. Normally I use a jackson hero or superhero for stepping up, and after trying the Karma I won't be satisfied in the hero anymore. Planning to get one by this fall for sure.
I love the planing hull, and even though the edging on a creek boat will take some getting used to, I gives the Karma a great control and reaction that I just don't feel in the Hero series.
And FAST! it moves quick and responds quicker.

The Karma is my favorite creek boat. It's fast downriver, fast peeling out, responsive, and carves through hydraulics more easily than any other creek boat I've paddled. It stays on top too.

I demo'd the Karma last weekend and bought one immediately. The boat carves it up but is super stable. In addition, it is true Jackson made three sizes with the specific intent that the smallest one fit women better. If you want to try out a Karma give George a call over at Kayak Academy. Kayak Academy also has Dagger Mambas for demo, and that is another popular creeker for women. I find the Mamba heavier and more sluggish, but that is proebably more a size than performance issue....The Karma is super fast, though!
