Hahaha--
Ladies and gentlemen, meet one of the guys I can "count on one hand" who will run Ricochet when everyone else is shouldering their boats high and dry on the road.
Marco, I'd love to join ya (although until the day of when I can see what its running I wouldn't comit to Ricochet itself-likely friday it will be too high for my taste, camera crew or not, heheh).
But its a moot point, as I gotta work friday.
I'd urge the rest of you to apply some introspection on Marco's offer though. Yes Marco is a born n bred Animal. A beast.
But he is also a very technically proficient beast. A good paddler.
Legend has it that when he left California, the paddlers there cheered and celebrated. They no longer had to go run the gnar at ridiculously stomping huge flows. The Beast had left their land and the age of darkness had lifted. Ok, now maybe I'm pouring it on a bit thick, but I'd be cautious about taking the bait of media being present to make you a "movie star".
Still, "choose your own adventure". I'm sure some carnage in Ricochet would make some great TV or something!
Marco, I used to have your #, otherwise I'd call ya and hit you up to boat more. But, hey, if paddling w/ people who are just gonna portage Ricochet is a turn off, I completely understand. I ain't proud. I just want to kayak a little. I don't need an adventure. When it comes down to the flow ranges I outlined, Ricochet is exciting enough for me. That said, I'm always looking for locals to boat w/ so lets get in touch. Haven't seen you out there all season
