Topic: Where can I demo boats? Posted: 15 Apr 2014 at 7:16pm |
Time for new boat. Any shops around here (Seattle) have demos? Last time I asked to demo from Cascade Paddlesports, they wanted to charge $60. I may have to head down to Portland and check out Next Adventure or Alder Creek. I'm hoping to sit in a Mamba and Nomad, so Dagger dealer would be ideal.

If you make it over to Leavenworth, go to Leavenworth Mtn Sports. They just got in the new Dagger boats for demo. I just sat in a brand spanking new Nomad demo. I just started paddling Mamba Creeker 8.6 and I like that my knees are a little higher in the Mamba than in the Nomad. Both are awesome boats!!!

you can also go to that kayak shop in redmond. used to be aquasports but not sure if the new owners changed the name.
instead of paying money to demo a boat from a store, try posting on this site. part of pro-deals is supposed to be that you market the product, and a lot of the pros around here are very friendly and willing to let you try a boat.
i suggest starting with the free route first and renting boats from stores as a last resort. you also get the ancillary benefit of meeting other paddlers you may not know.
good luck.

Does anyone around here paddle for Wavesport? I want to try a Mobius 57, but haven't seen one on the river or heard anyone talk about them.

Thanks chipmaney. With that in mind, does anyone have a Burn III or Remix they would be willing to let me demo? I live in Bellingham, but am in Seattle area regularly.

Baker, you are welcome to take my Remix 79 for a spin, whenever we get a chance to finally meet up

Thanks for all the info. Looks like LMS has some boats to demo and some good flows nearby to test them out.
