Yo mokelumnekid- you don't have to do that-- i've kept track of your basic presence on here and you have some sincere, positive contributions to make to this community. What's your name, anyway? Have we met? (On the river I mean- cyberspace ain't real enuf). I just want a shorter name to type than "Mokelumnekid", I mean, I don't even know how to pronounce "Mokelumnekid", and I had to type that three times now. Really you need a short name like "jP". Its much easier for peeps to give me sh*t from their so-called "smart phones", which ain't really smart much at all if ya ask mebut thasjusanothertopicalltogetha ...

Not that I'm givin you sh*t at all, dude. I'lljuscallya "dude"- less typin on the so-called "smart phone" that is really fragmenting human consciousness so long as we let it. But I ain't letting it. Cuz I gotta say this:

it's worth metioning here to a few other PPeeps 'round here: watch what you say. Remember this is a public forum, which means that the parties concerned who you speak of may be monitoring your discussion(s). I know I would if I was a land owner and people were discussing issues related to my property...

To both "Dude" (Mokulmnekid) and Franz.

The guy that bought all the Gravel last year and re-did the take out was Steve McCoulough (see thread here) .

And to "Dude" (Mokulmnekid) again my post was not directed towards any one person in general, I agree with JP your posts are helpful and sincere. Just re-stating that discussion is much different than action and although both are valid and needed one is much more lacking in our general community. So to go full circle, contact the owner and see how you can help out, or call steve and help him next time he is planning something. I am glad we have so many folks discussing the issue but we need more folks like you that are interested in taking action, and were always short on folks that take action.

O'Keefe fulfills all of these and we should be pretty thankful to have him around! Thanks Tom!

Thanks for the kind words of support although actually resolving anything regarding Sky access still remains elusive. A couple more quick follow up points (I am actually on vacation at the moment).

-- We are pretty set on funding (though keeping your AW membership current is always helpful). We have a Sky Access fund and a couple of generous donors who have contributed towards my time spent on river access.

-- Definitely room for others to help on the Split Rock situation and I don't think independent conversations with the landowner will hurt but let's keep each other informed. I am happy to share my correspondence and notes with anyone who asks (just don't want to put it all on a public forum where stuff comes up with a simple google search). I will be following up when I get back.

-- Someone asked about Cable Drop. Yes Forest Service is planning to formalize and put a proper trail in suitable for rafts (probably some kind of slide rail system). They have also met with WRRR. There will be volunteer opportunities--stay tuned.

--Still exploring Sunset Falls. There have been some promising opportunities but it all remains a work in progress.
