I think a photo is in order. If there were an opportunity to paddle through boulder drop, spin onto the front porch, cartwheel through the living room and boof off the back deck you might have yourself a viral or super epic photo shoot. Just a photo paddling by a submerged cabin would be cool. This is the only thing I can think of close to the idea I am having...

I thought I saw something when I was coming back from stevens the other day but I didnt stop to look.

I'm out of town for the next few weekends but it its still there by mid jan when Im free again ill come out and help clean up. It would be a shame to lose boulder drop to a strainer.

It's a good idea....  but I'm not to concerned about the debris becoming a strainer or anything like that. 

The debris is from a house located in SkyKo1 that lost is it's studio portion.  There is more to come from that house as it sits half-way off the bank tetering into the abyss.  I would think that to be a much bigger concern. 

You could run a chainsaw but without proper authorization ( permits ) I'd think it was probably illegal in someway or other; so IF you do get busy on the mess keep it covert unless you've got clearance.  It could be challenging to access.

Take a pic and send it to county.  That might get a reaction.  OR NOT as county is lame on this sort of thing...

anyways, I wouldn't stress on it to much.  It is an eyesore to be sure, but it's only temporary, eh....

 

 

 

 

The main Sky is a pretty wood-free river. The next flood will need to be another 50 or 60k event to get that sucker. At that level most everything is covered up and a big flush. The debris I saw from the road is suspended above the water. I wouldn't worry about it.

No doubt.  Without embarking on an epic oddessy of words, let me sum up my general position:

It would be nice though if someone would take a picture of it and post it on PP so we can all see what exactly is going on with it.

Someone with a decent background in chemistry, or a lot of empty pop bottles and dry ice could take care of this problem (and the one in the Boulder Garden on CC Stilly)!

I'll be on the Sky tomorrow-- I'll take pictures if I can & post them . Courtney, if you're still planning on a little clean-up, keep me posted. I'm happy to help if I can.

It's more of an eyesore than anything. 

One good change in the river is that the log that was jutting out from RR on Garbage is now gone.  (At least I "think" that rapid is called Garbage.  When I read the PP River Page, it refers to Garbage as containing the "Butter the Biscuit" move.  The rapid I always called Garbage is the one above it, the long wave train on river right with a couple of holes in it.) 

Anyhow, that log is gone.

I definitely agree about the Needle.  I dropped in there with not much speed and a little right boat angle (which usually worked well for me in the past) and was forcibly spit out totally vertical.  Next time, I thought I might try to hit it more like Ned's; with enough speed and left angle to boof over that gaping maw at the bottom.
