I am going to try to rally some of the local Wenatchee folks. Hoping to get started early ~8am because unfortunately I have to be at a work meeting at 3pm - and the forecasted peak early Thursday morning. Plan will probably be to meet at the Cashmere takeout at 8am. Come on out.

Anyone up for a Wednesday morning ~8am run? Looking at the forecast I think we'd be getting ~8-10k by then:

Or maybe a run at 2 tomorrow.

Longboat run??!!
Maybe there's hope for you yet, Colonel Sherman T. Potter!!
I'd come join you myself, but I think Robe will be running and since the graph looks like its going through the Roof (again), I better get out there again and see where the new Gnomes are stationed.

So I've been getting texts from people that just say "Brrr" and people claiming they have "jobs".
I'm up for anything ~2pm tomorrow / Thursday early enough that I can make my meeting at 3 on Thursday / Anytime Friday.

"Jobs"
Lame
Ha! i have a job!
And its LAME!
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME when I have a job during the "2nd great depression" and I don't appreciate it?
I'll now tell you:
Even if my employer wanted to adequately compensate me (despite giving him the benefit of the doubt, I'm pretty sure he doesn't), he couldn't even if he wanted to. It costs way more to live in this world than he or many other employers can afford to pay their workers.
Of course, there is also a lot of waste all around. But I too must own my portion of it. I try to. When I care. The problem is, increasingly I don't.
fu*k it. fu*k all of it. I'm boating Robe this weekend. Yes it will be " Brrr", but I'm gonna invest my personal "Brrr" in the best Washington has to offer (NO CONTEST NOW THAT THE TRUSS AND LW ARE FUBAR FULL OF WOOD, so all yall Portland boaters best be comin up HERE, if ya know what's good for ya): ROBE.
BUT, since some Robe Gnomes apparently hopped a train over Stevens to influence WASHINGTON'S SECOND MOST CHANGEABLE WHITEWATER RUN just for kicks, create some classic Robe mischief (they were seen wearing "muppet" disguises on Amtrak), and get back to Granite Falls just in time to move some of the "furniture" around in Robe Canyon on a subtle level just to see how many "Robe Regulars" are paying attention (I am) after this latest "Vlad The Impaler" spike...
Y'nz oughtta be answering the rally call to go run the 'Snatch Chi.
Or, you better be ski'n. Otherwise, ain't NO excuses!!!!!!

Yup. I too am but a weekend warrior :(
I will have to settle for a TR from the Wenatchee crew: do report back to us on this thread, and do update the River Page for Drunkards!
Just may as well throw it out there, though: I'd actually consider blowing off Robe this weekend if PPeeps were gonna carpool over to the Wenatchee saturday n sunday. I know it will be calming down after it spikes, maybe 2000-4000 according to the current graph snapshot, but I'd consider it.
Probably just go on auto pilot back out to Granite Falls (props to my man, the Chainsaw Kid for firing up Granite Falls proper this week, so the story goes). But if there was interest in a Leavenworth rally this weekend, I could be down...

I'm still planning on going. Not going to get there at 8am or anything crazy like that but I'll be there decently early enough. I'll be heading from Lake Stevens so any non-Wenatchee-locals planning on drivin over, let me know.

It will come up but I don't think it will be near what NWRFC is predicting but either way we will be out there.

The spike is definitely happening, I think it's just a bit later than the NOAA forecast. Stevens Pass got a lot of water yesterday, it just takes a while to make it to the Wenatchee. How much of a bump it gets in total is a bit hard to tell. I think we got a little less water than was forecast, so the spike may not be as high as forecast.

It always takes longer to see the water than forecasted and it's rarely as high as predicted in the winter over here. It would be awesome if it does... SYOTR

Hmm - forecast on NOAA just got hugely revised. Probably going to pass on paddling unless they got it terribly wrong. Think I'd rather go skiing in the morning.

That is almost always what happens to the forecast this time of year. The Chee is almost all snow melt so we have to have a serious Pineapple Express to get the Chee to hit over 10,000 cfs in the Winter. It just looks better for run off...

It wasn't nearly as warm and we didn't get as much water as was forecast - oh well. Mission should be good skiing in the morning.

Yea its a bummer its not getting that high. But its dumbing snow like crazy in the hills. Barely made it over Blewett pass just now.
Hit the river today from Dryden down just after noon at about 2 grand. Drunkards is certainly changed for a good while.
Jean-Luc's photos dont really show how big those suckers are. The smaller looking ones near the bank are huge. The massive one aint moving probably anytime soon. We paddled up to the backside of it and the depth is still well beyond paddle length so there is a good amount of it under the water line. Wish idiot here didn't leave his gopro at T-pots place so i could show a different perspective.
Don't really know what to say about the changes to the drop since it was still really low today, but trinity is probably gone. And there will probably be more shifting as water comes up. There is a lot of smaller debris from the slide and "small" boulders that can move around. On the bright side if a feature does show up at higher levels there should be a real good eddy now.

Yeah, surely Trinity is gone. I thought that main boulder looked huge in Jean Luc's snapshot, but its hard to say exactly with low flows. Thanks for the account, Andy.
And we won't know till we get on the flow. But don't underestimate the possibilty of a sweet wave forming off the corner of that thing, with eddy service like you said.
Can't wait to discover the new Drunkards, but Trinity will be missed. Glad I got on it while it was around. I'm more curious about Drunkard's Wave (Hawaii 5-O): That was the Green machine for the Diablo scene. Super fun to come in from the center of the river on a right-to-left charge and hook the crest: slide into that trough stuck to that thing like glue...
Dodgin Rafts... Trinity was even better since it was a bouncy ride. I'm gonna miss rafts hitting my stern and smacking me back into the trough, and cutting beneath the self bailing floors of rafts after they stalled on the crest...
May be spending more time on Ici this year

Skiing was good enough yesterday at MR that I didn't feel too bad about the water coming up. Had somewhere in the 10-13" of fresh up there.
