A tunnel is across the river from the people standing on the shore picture. It is the rapid just before that.

Ha ha- funny comment.
Tuco- you got skills behind the lense. Nice Ferry shots (on your flicker account)
That's BROCK? He looks absolutely terrified. But I know him. He is not. He was just racing. Paddling that hard you can end up with some pretty intense facial expresions. Then again, Andrew and Fish look they are out on a serene flatwater stroll on Green Lake or some sh*t.

So have we figured out what rapid the picture of Scott/Andrew is? Hotel California?
The 2013 Robe Race turned out to be another great year. Level was 5.9 after being delayed due to a level of 6.1 the weekend prior. A bit of team shuffling resulted in the top two local racers teaming up: Andrew McEwan and Darren Albright. They laid down a screaming fast time of 25:41. Fish and I came in second with a time of 17:01, I believe Fred Norquist and Eric Parker got third.

I'm a newbie trying to get into sport. Live in bham area. Just wanted to comment on 2013 Robe race. I drove down, walked the robe trail to watch from the sidelines. Perfect timing as I rolled up around 11am, just in time to see the start. The racers made it look ez! Fun! I got to look at some lines and learned a little just from watching! Thanks racers!

he says it was across the river from the people shot (race start) across from a tunnel and its the rapid up stream... that rapid is T-1. those shots dont look like T-1 they look like faceplant but thats too far down stream.... ?? epic perspective !!!

I only took pictures from two location. I walked from the trail head at the road and encountered the first tunnel - tunnel #6 per this Map Of Robe Canyon Historic Park. Then I went through the tunnel and took those others as you guys passed by again. I don't know the names of the rapids and looked for a map but no luck.

I think this is the entrance to the final sequence in Hotel California. I think the gnarly looking drop is actually the chute you come through after the fader boof river center. You fight right after te chute to end river right over the final ledge hole. The perspective just makes it look alien.

i do not recall being terrified; however, I do recall using a tremendous amount of energy to make up for my utter lack of finesse. By the way, children, if you are not on island time, all d' time, you can suck it!

Maybe I'm just dense... but don't you score a higher ranking for a shorter time? 17 is much faster than 25, no? And, yes... those photos are absolutely stunning! Some of the best WW shots I've seen anywhere!

T1 is the name of the rapid. I'm not used to seeing pictures of that drop because it changed a lot this year. Great shots!

Good catch, our time was 27:01, not 17:01!

elegant. I remember thinking, wow, no struggle; like he was floating
on air.
